The Rally Received 4 Daytime Emmy Nominations!

Today Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert's Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear was nominated for 4 Daytime Emmy Awards. "The Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear" earned nominations in four categories: "Outstanding Special Class Special," "Outstanding Special Class Writing," "Outstanding Achievement in Technical Direction/Electronic Camera/Video Control" and "Outstanding Achievement in Live & Direct To Tape Sound Mixing."

The 250,000 strong rally sought to inspire people to disregard the news media's constant fear-mongering. John Stewart described the news media as a "24 hour political pundit perpetual panic conflictinator" and reminded everyone that "we live now in hard times, not end times" as the media keeps suggesting.

Stay Sane my friends!

Pictures of the Rally to Restore Sanity Setup

The Colbert Rally page has posted pictures of the setup for the rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear online here.
By the looks of it they have a large stage set up on the mall with 2 huge Restore Sanity and/or Fear signs on the side. There is heavy lighting set up, as would likely be seen in a concert.
So for any of those people that somehow thought this was not going to happen, here is your proof. The photos will be updated as they come in and I am sure other sites will have photos as well, especially the day of.
This rally is going to be the most fun I have had in DC in a long time and I hope to see everyone there!

Keep checking back for any last minute updates and/or notifications and don't forget to check out the National Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear Schedule!!

Rally to Keep Fear Alive

Rally to Keep Fear Alive

Naturally Stephen Colbert is holding a "counter-rally," the rally to Keep Fear Alive. Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert have long been friends and partners in crime.
According to the Rally to Keep Fear Alive site, the reasoning behind the rally is:
"America, the Greatest Country God ever gave Man, was built on three bedrock principles: Freedom. Liberty. And Fear -- that someone might take our Freedom and Liberty. But now, there are dark, optimistic forces trying to take away our Fear -- forces with salt and pepper hair and way more Emmys than they need. They want to replace our Fear with reason. But never forget -- "Reason" is just one letter away from "Treason." Coincidence? Reasonable people would say it is, but America can't afford to take that chance."

Stephen Colbert's notoriety for his lack of political correctness and bringing light to political problems through comedy is sure to draw even more people.
