So the Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear was a lot of fun and I'm glad I was able to go! I hope that this blog helped encourage people to come, while informing them about the national rallies and satellite rallies around the globe.
A lot of people were not able to to make phone calls, send text messages, or use 3G at the rally due to what was probably an overload of service, which is why I stopped updating this site and Twitter.
Anyway, there are rumors that the national Rally had over 500000, or a half a million people in attendance, which is a huge number. I just know that people were all the way at the end of the National Mall, well past the Washington Monument.
I hope that everyone that went to the rally's had a lot of fun and came away with the knowledge that there are also other people out there who are sick of the extreme rhetoric on the far right and left and the ridiculous scare tactics of our mass media.
Just remember that moderates are the majority. Most people may try to align themselves with Republicans or Democrats, but they are not extreme on either side. As we saw at the rally, maintaining sanity will allow everyone to work together that much easier, and it will create a much more pleasant environment. I am 100% positive that people disagreed with each other at the Rally to Restore Sanity, but if they did they were able to act intelligent about it and not continue a war of hate that has been perpetuated by the extremists on either side of the table.
Keeping everyone updated on the Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear and its satellite rallies. The National Rally is scheduled from 12-3PM on 30 October 2010 and hosted by Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert On the National Mall in Washington DC.

Announcing The Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear
Tonight on The Daily Show Stephen Colbert appeared, saying that he wanted to join forces with Jon Stewart because he "couldn't get a permit for the National Mall". They name this joint rally "Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear."
Oprah appears on the wall behind them and expresses her support for the rally, having the audience look under their seats and produce airline tickets to the rally.

Rally to Restore Sanity
Jon Stewart's Rally to Restore Sanity on October 30th promises to be an unprecedented event on the National Mall, to be paralleled with President Obama's inauguration. No one is really sure what will happen at this rally, but it is sure to be of epic proportions.
The rally is supposed to be for people who are tired of all the fighting and bickering between parties and the attention given to radicals like the Tea Party. According to the official site the target audience could be described as:
"We're looking for the people who think shouting is annoying, counterproductive, and terrible for your throat; who feel that the loudest voices shouldn't be the only ones that get heard; and who believe that the only time it's appropriate to draw a Hitler mustache on someone is when that person is actually Hitler. Or Charlie Chaplin in certain roles."http://www.rallytorestoresanity.com/
With a comedian leading the rally it is sure to be a good time for everyone, but Jon Stewart has been known to throw out many zingers, calling out prominent politicians and figures throughout the world.
One thing is for sure; I will be at the Jon Stewart rally.
